A healthy diet is very close to do with low-fat diet menu and low in calories. The two components required by this body if we consume too much fat can cause the reserves in our body increases, which would be at risk of increasing cholesterol levels and risk lead to some diseases such as heart disease and obesity. If our favorite foods classified as foods high in fat, do not need us to leave them. Only a portion of dish that should be on reduced, in accordance with the right fat intake to our bodies.

Saturated fats are as contained in red meat, processed meat, milk and egg yolks. And we need to limit the amount of these food intake to the body. While foods with unsaturated fat content from sources such as vegetable oils: olive oil, sunflower seed oil and fish oil is better for the body. It also contains essential fatty acids good for brain health.

Now, what are we need to apply is to prepare a healthy diet that provides appropriate fat and calorie intake. Low-fat diet were classified into 2, that is for healthy people and for people with cholesterol disorders. For people with good healthy, the fat intake approximately 30% of total calories per day. As for people with cholesterol disorders, fat intake down to 25% of total calories per day.

As published by heartpoint.com and reported by the healthy life with healthy diet, to determine the exact limits of our fat intake per day is determined by how many calories we need per day. It was explained that there are 3 categories of activities require different calorie:
  • People who are less active need of calories by 12 x weight in pounds.
  • People who are active require calories by 14 x weight in pounds, and
  • People are very active need of calories by 16 to 18 X weight in pounds.
Thus, examples of how to count them is: You are active people with weight 120 pounds. Calorie intake per day maximum of 14 x 120 = 1680. Total fat intake is right for your body maximum 1680 x 30% = 504 calories. If each gram of fat is 9 calories then the amount of fat intake per day proper is 504 / 9 = 56 grams.
